They are all, qualified in advanced First Aid, have a detailed understanding of the procedures for conducting emergency evacuations and a strong bond with the New Guinea people along the trail.

LEADERS

Mick O’Malley

Mick has been leading expeditions across the Kokoda Trail for the past 5 years and is a keen student of the Kokoda campaign. Mick is a former 2 time Victorian, 3 time Australian and Commonwealth super featherweight boxing champion. His impressive record is staggering when you take into account he broke his left hand twice and his right hand nine times. He was able to overcome all this on his way to a world ranking of number three and he was the first Australian in 24 years to win a Commonwealth title on foreign soil as well as the first Australian ever to win two national titles in the same year.

With the same dedication, focus and enthusiasm he displayed as a distinguished eight year professional, Mick is helping others achieve their goals and walk in the footsteps of hero’s.
