DAY 5 - KAGI CULTURAL DAY
Thursday 11 September
A few of the adults enjoyed a sleep in this morning as the others were early up to explore more of village life. They spent time amongst the locals, experiencing local village culture and the students were split into groups and experienced daily life on the Kokoda track. There was a little bit of rain but mostly the weather was pretty good. They gathered and chopped wood, did some gardening. After lunch a few of the adults had a rest and in the afternoon the village came together with the students and adults for some more activities and sport. The trekkers lost tug of war 3-2 in controversial circumstances. However, they made up for it by winning soccer 3-2. They had an early dinner and then were treated to a cultural sing-sing. Everyone is going well and it was a great cultural day!
