DAY 4 - TEMPLETONS 2 TO KAGI VILLAGE
Sunday 28 September
FOR THOSE FOLLOWING ALONG AT HOME, PLEASE RE-READ DAYS 1 - 3. THEY WERE NOT A TRUE REFLECTION OF THE GROUPS ACTIVITIES. THIS HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED. SINCERE APOLOGIES FOR THE MISINFORMATION.
Another early wake up as they trekked out Templetons 2.
They made their way through the village of Vasi, across a bridge and 20 minutes to the first climb of the day. It was another tough climb to the lookout and then another hour to the highest point of the track Mt Bellamy. They gathered here for a group photo and then they survived another hour through the moss forest for a break. They then trekked for another hour to see the amazing views of Myola and here they dropped their packs and trekked out onto the crater to chat about the history of the events here. Then back to their backpacks and down for an hour to Bombers camp for lunch and to inspect a crashed American bomber. Then back onto the track for a long 2.5 hour trek flat, up, up, up, down and up into Kagi village, the halfway point of the track. They arrived to Kagi to a warm, traditional welcome.
Its been a tough, wet first few days but everyone is doing well and enjoying the hospitality that the people of the village of Kagi show our groups.
The showers have set in as they reached camp but all trekkers are travelling really well.
