DAY 5 - KAGI CULTURAL DAY
Wedesday 09 September
Today the students enjoyed a relaxed and productive morning, although many were awake early and ready to begin the day. Following breakfast, the group divided into several teams, with each group taking responsibility for different activities around the village. Some students worked together cutting and clearing the grass, while others collected firewood and chopped it into manageable pieces. Another group spent time helping in the garden, contributing to the upkeep of the local surroundings. The weather was excellent.
After lunch, the students visited the local school, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the community and see the important services provided to local residents. The afternoon was then filled with plenty of fun and friendly competition, as the students participated in a variety of games and activities against the porters.
In between the organised activities, some students took the opportunity to wash their clothes, while others enjoyed a refreshing swim and relaxed in the warmer afternoon weather. It was a great balance of work, great cultural experiences and recreation.
Everyone is doing well and enjoying the experience. Dinner has now finished, and most of the students are turning in early to get a good night’s rest and prepare for another busy day tomorrow.
