Flyover the Kokoda Trail

You’ve just walked Kokoda Track now fly over it and see just what an incredible effort you have done. Flying by helicopter you will get a greater appreciation of the terrain this war was fought over and a better sense of what was needed to defeat the Imperial Japanese army.

The helicopter can take 6 passengers or a load of 650kgs & there are two different options we can offer you.

OPTION ONE: 1 hour & 20 minute Flyover

Visit all the major battle sites that you have witnessed along the way including Kokoda, Deniki, Isurava, the Gap and Brigade Hill.

The flight is approximately 1 hour & 20 minutes and flights leave from Jacksons Airfield a two-five minute walk from the international airport the following: 

•  Transfers to and from your hotel

•  1 hour 20- minute  flight over the Kokoda Track

•  Land at Isurava for a 40-minute exploration of the area

•  Location commentary along the way

•  Circle major battle sites such as Isurava, Kokoda, Deniki and Brigade Hill.

$1100 per person* (a minimum of 6 people is required)

 

OPTION TWO: 25-30 minute Flyover 

Your tour follows the main Kokoda supply route beside the Lakota River and through Rouna Pass and on to the famous Owers Corner and Imita Ridge.

Your pilot will identify the major points of interest, including where the Australians were to make their final stand and the limit of the main Japanese advance at Ioribaiwa Ridge.

The flight is approximately 25-30 minutes and flights leave from Jacksons Airfield a two-five minute walk from the international airport.

Flights include:

•  Transfers to and from your hotel

•  25-30 minutes flight 

•  Location commentary along the way
